Project Description:

Built in 1939 and renovated for an increased student capacity of 550, the four-story middle school is located in the historic DC suburb of Anacostia and the first DGS renovation project to achieve LEED for Schools Platinum certification. The scope of work included a new elevator, media center and complete renovation of the classrooms as well as the hallways, restrooms, lobby, entrances of the school and the replacement of windows. Modernizations also include new lighting, incoming power along with the replacement of the mechanical and life safety systems throughout the school.
